Environments

Octopus Gate

This is a concept I was working on a while ago for the entrance to the city of Atlantis. I wanted to focus on the connection to the ocean and Poseidon and feature the colours of the city - mainly what I refer to as Atlantean blue, which is a vibrant blue the Atlanteans use for decorative aspects, including their tattoos.

Desert Temples

This piece was painted to try to nail down a design for a simplistic temple design that I could use throughout the desert regions during the Songs of Death comic.

I wanted it to feel used but not necessarily inhabited. It was meant to feel more like a landmark to help find your way.

Water Hole

I painted this to wrap my head around the look of the place when I needed it for a part of the Songs of Death story. It is a hot spring in the Caelum realm near the cabin where Samael stays.

Watchful Tree

Done as an exercise in freeform sketching, this piece took on a mind of its own. This tree is a mostly forgotten god that is now only worshipped by a small cult of followers who no longer know its true name.

Over the years of neglect, the tree has lost the ability to communicate, so the followers may or may not understand what the tree means when it blinks it’s one massive eye. The tree god is feared by most.

Entrance to Silva

Silva is a hidden realm that is accessed through the Earth realm from a specific location using a key. This was painted as a concept for what that door would look like when found.

Dark Forests

Some areas of the Earth realm are home to dark creatures who no one has laid eyes on in remembered history. These forests are dark even during daytime and emit an air of evil if you approach a little too closely.

Desert Safehouse Concept

A currently unfinished house design for the Songs of Death comic. This is one of the many safe houses used by the angels and gods of the universe for time spent on the Earth plane.

This concept may be used in the comic as is or may be changed as things progress.

Atlantean Palace Concept

This was a loose concept for the Atlantean palace that I sketched out in 2020 as a background for another painting but never shared. The idea was the use blue as the main accent colour of the structure as a reference to the Atlantean’s connection to Poseidon and the ocean.
