I Published a Book!

I’m checking in today because I have some super exciting news. And I realize that the title of the post spoils it, but it’s just too exciting to not basically just scream it. I finally published a book!

I’ve been wanting to do this for a really long time, and to be honest, this isn’t the book I wanted to publish first. It’s something I’ve been working on for a few years off and on in between working on short stories and novels for the project, but it wasn’t a priority.

What changed was that over the winter, I felt like I was getting nothing accomplished. I dug myself into a bit of a creative rut, and I’m honestly not sure what caused it, just that it happened. It can probably be blamed entirely on the dark winters here in Whitehorse, but my productivity dropped to way below normal, and it was a struggle to get any creative work done at all.

This book sort of saved that. Back in January when I decided to finally follow through and just finish this thing, I was excited to do it. That never changed, but I spent all of February and a good chunk of March just not feeling well (ie, illnesses galore), which definitely slowed me down. A lot.

Now that I’m finally feeling normal again, and actually full of energy like I should be, I decided to finish up the final touches on the files for the book. The manuscript was done almost two months ago, but I still had to design the cover and get the business-y stuff done for it, which seemed like a lot more work to me when I had a head cold that basically rendered my brain useless for three weeks.

I am happy to say that the book is now officially done - and published! It went live on Amazon a couple of days ago, but I was so busy trying to get caught up on some things that I didn’t feel right posting about it until I could actually afford to give the official announcement my full attention.

So enough rambling and time to actually talk about the book…

The book is made up of short stories - 116 of them. I know it may sound like a lot, but each story is only a sentence long. It’s something I’ve enjoyed doing for a while, and I’m sure I’ll continue to write these little tidbits for a long time before I stop. I made sure to cut out any stories that I wrote that weren’t in some way related to Unspoken Gods and the characters in the universe, as I wanted to keep to the lore I’m currently building.

I did, however, leave out any and all character names, as I didn’t want the specific characters to be as important and the narrative itself. As the world is unveiled through the duration of this project, some of those stories will be obviously related to certain characters, and I didn’t want to spoil what’s to come, as some of the stories I included in the book are parts of much longer and more detailed stories I plan to publish in the future.

So! With all of that said, here's the link to go check it out.

The link goes to the paperback, but it's also available as an ebook if you'd prefer that.
